Ravana Cut / Lover's Sleep
Konshwaram Temple, a place of relationship with King Ravana. When visiting the Konswaram temple, the first thing we see is the Ravana cut.As the plaque mentions, the "Ravana cut" (i.e. the slope) was created when King Ravana cut this hill with his sword. It is said that King Ravana, enraged about a Shivalinga Puja, cut the mountain with his sword, and due to his divine anger, he once again apologised, cut off one of his own heads, prepared a veena, chanted "Sama Veda" and asked for forgiveness.Later, this became "Lover's Leap" due to a white couple who committed suicide by jumping from this place.Don't forget to go here if you visit Trincomalee.
