Ones uppona day During the school holidays we went to Nuwara Eliya. We stayed at a hotel, the ‘Lu Chalet’. We went to see the Ambewela farm in the afternoon. We had a tasty meal at the hotel.  The next morning, we visited Haggala Gardens. There were many beautiful flowers. Then we went to Horton Plains and the ‘World’s End’. It was a great experience.  We saw the statues in Buduruwagala and also visited Ravana Ella. It was an enjoyable trip with my family members.this is one of favourite incident and days with family.

The Maritime and Naval History Museum is a relatively new museum in Trincomalee, as it has been in operation since 2013. Although a new addition, the museum is home to several ancient relics that go back to the days where trade relationships were just established in Sri Lanka, during the time of Marco Polo. Within the two-storey complex is a myriad of artefacts that explain how Sri Lanka, especially the port of Trincomalee, was used as an important docking point for many traders coming in from the far east. Located close to the historical Fort Frederick, the museum provides a good perspective on the history of how the Dutch set foot into the island during the 16th century, and eventually took control of the coastal regions.  

Pichchamal Viharaya Kuchchaveli 🙏 Kuchchaveli is a small coastal fishing village located about North of Trincomalee. The Pichchamal Viharaya at Kuchchaveli lies on a small rocky outcrop at the sea about 4 km to the North where the Yan Oya meets the sea. Such temples are generally called Samudragiri temples or Muhudu Viharas. Thirukoneshwaram Temple is built near the Trincomalee port and is an ancient sacred place dedicated to Lord Shiva. Surrounded by the sea on three sides, it is located on top of a rock about 100-150 feet above sea level.Therefore, as well as the sea area around this place, the areas like Sampur, Trincomalee city, Trincomalee port, China bay harbor, Pigeon Island, Nilaweli can be seen very beautifully.It is said that this temple has existed for more than 5,000 years   It   is special that many devotees who come here are childless parents. Shanti Karma and Bharahara are performed in this temple for them to have children.The Koneswaram temple with its wonderful surroundings is also related to the story of Rama-Ravana.
